Quietra is a privacy-first, on-device AI workspace. This Privacy Policy explains what information Quietra LLC ("Quietra," "we," "us," or "our") processes, where that information lives, when it leaves your device, and how we handle it.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Quietra iOS application and the Quietra website at quietra.ai, including the website contact form and in-app support or bug-report flows.
Quietra is designed so that the most sensitive parts of ordinary AI use, such as your imported document contents, local prompts, local conversation history, and ordinary AI outputs, are processed on-device and are not sent to a remote AI inference service as part of normal private-mode operation.
No account or registration is required to use Quietra's free on-device features. Certain paid-license, account, restore, contact, bug-report, cloud-storage, or other operational features may request or require account or support information.
If you download or purchase Quietra through Apple or another platform provider, that provider processes its own transaction, billing, account, and device-related data under its own privacy policy.
We may receive or process platform-related information reasonably necessary to honor purchases or account status, such as product or entitlement status, receipt or transaction identifiers, purchase dates, and related license metadata.
If you contact us through the website contact form, the in-app Contact flow, the in-app Bug Report flow, or by email, we may process:
We use this information to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, investigate bugs, maintain support records, and improve the reliability of the product.
If you buy Quietra Pro or Business, activate a purchase, restore a license, verify a code, delete a license record, or use related account-management features, we may process:
We use this data to enable purchases, restore access, verify account ownership, enforce licensing rules, prevent abuse, maintain account state, and provide related support. We do not use it for advertising or behavioral profiling.
If you choose features that require an external request, we may process the data reasonably necessary for that specific request, such as:
For ordinary on-device AI operation, Quietra does not process the following through a remote AI service or analytics stack:
Quietra also does not request or use your microphone, does not request location access, and does not request Contacts access on the current launch branch.
Quietra may request camera access if you choose document scanning. Those captured images are processed on-device for OCR and are not uploaded by Quietra merely because you scanned them.
Quietra may also request photo-library access if you choose to import images from your library. Only the images you select are imported, and those images are processed on-device for OCR or document workflows. Quietra does not upload them merely because you selected them.
Quietra does not collect IDFA, IDFV, or device identifiers for advertising or cross-app tracking. Quietra does use a separate app-generated device identifier for license and account-management functionality as described in Section 2.3.
The Quietra website does not use tracking cookies for analytics or advertising.
Quietra's AI capabilities are designed around on-device processing. Document import, OCR, indexing, retrieval, Key Info generation, summarization, question answering, translation, and other document-intelligence steps run locally on your device using bundled models, operating-system-provided frameworks, or other on-device components.
This means Quietra's ordinary AI inference does not depend on sending your documents, prompts, or AI outputs to a cloud AI provider for processing.
When an external operational feature is used, such as a user-requested webpage fetch, cloud-storage import, or model download, that network activity is separate from the core on-device AI inference path.
Quietra stores the following locally on your device:
If you connect Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, Quietra may store cloud-storage authentication tokens locally in the Keychain until you disconnect that provider, sign out, or platform-controlled Keychain behavior removes them.
Data stored in the app sandbox is subject to the platform's sandboxing, encryption, backup, migration, and account-sync behavior. Depending on your platform settings, some local data may be included in device backups or migration flows controlled by the platform provider rather than by Quietra.
Deleting the app removes sandboxed app data from that installation, subject to backup, sync, and Keychain behavior outside our control.
To enforce the Free tier's monthly document-analysis limit, Quietra stores in your device's Keychain a one-way SHA-256-based identifier derived from each distinct document you analyze, together with the current month.
These identifiers are used to count distinct documents for the monthly quota. They are not used for advertising, analytics, or cloud AI inference, and they cannot be used to reconstruct the original document contents from the stored value alone.
This quota data survives app deletion and Offload App so the monthly limit cannot be reset by reinstalling the app. It is cleared only by a full device reset or by the month rolling over. Pro and Business users' documents are not tracked for this quota.
Quietra's core AI inference and document processing are on-device. Separate from that core local AI path, Quietra may make network requests only in limited operational circumstances such as:
If you explicitly paste a URL for retrieval, Quietra sends a request to the destination site in order to fetch that page, and that request includes a User-Agent string set by Quietra for that fetch path.
Using one of these operational network features does not convert Quietra into a cloud AI service. Quietra does not send your ordinary local documents, local prompts, or local conversation history to a remote AI model provider merely because the app performs one of these operational requests.
Quietra uses a limited set of operational service providers to run the product. Depending on the feature you use, those providers may include platform stores, payment providers, backend or hosting providers, transactional email providers, support-routing or email-delivery providers, model-download hosts, and user-authorized cloud-storage providers.
These providers may process different categories of data depending on the function:
None of these providers receive your ordinary local documents, local prompts, local conversation history, or ordinary AI outputs for cloud AI inference.
Quietra does not include third-party analytics SDKs, ad SDKs, or behavioral tracking SDKs.
Quietra LLC is the controller of the personal data described in this Privacy Policy for our app and website operations.
Depending on your jurisdiction and the nature of the data, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to, or a copy of certain personal data that we control. To exercise rights or make a privacy request, use the contact methods in Section 14.
For users in the EU, EEA, or UK, our legal bases may include performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (for purchases, license restore, and account operations), legitimate interests (for service security, abuse prevention, support, and product reliability), consent (for optional submissions or optional external requests where consent is the appropriate basis), and compliance with legal obligations.
If applicable law gives you the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, you may do so in the jurisdiction where you live or work or where the relevant processing occurred.
Quietra does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are used in California privacy law.
Depending on the feature you use, categories of personal information we may collect or disclose for business purposes include identifiers and contact information (such as email, optional name, and the license-related device identifier), commercial information (such as purchase, receipt, subscription, or entitlement data), technical information you submit with a bug report (such as app or operating-system version), and the content of communications you send us.
Quietra does not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Your documents, local conversations, local AI outputs, and local indexes remain on your device until you delete them, use Quietra's local deletion features, remove the app, or the platform removes them through platform-controlled behavior such as backup or migration changes.
Quietra's "Delete All Local Data" flow is intended to remove local documents, conversations, and related local indexes from the app's local storage. It does not automatically delete server-side license records, support communications, or the quota data described in Section 6.
We retain license and account-operation data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide entitlement and restore functionality, keep required business records, prevent abuse or fraud, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements.
Deleting a license record or asking us to delete account-related data does not necessarily cancel or erase the separate purchase record held by Apple, another platform provider, or a payment provider under that provider's own rules.
We retain support and bug-report communications for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, maintain records, improve reliability, comply with legal obligations, and protect our rights.
Quietra does not keep a cloud copy of your ordinary documents, prompts, or conversation history for private-mode AI use.
Where available, in-app license settings let you delete your Quietra license record. That feature is limited to license-related data. For other privacy or deletion requests, contact us using the methods in Section 14.
Quietra's security posture is materially strengthened by the fact that ordinary AI inference and document processing are designed to remain on-device. There is no central Quietra cloud database of your ordinary document corpus or ordinary local AI conversations for private-mode AI use.
On-device data is protected by the platform's sandboxing and device-level protections, subject to platform and device configuration, backup behavior, account sync, physical access, MDM or employer controls, screenshots, screen recording, accessibility services, third-party keyboards, jailbreak or compromise, and other risks outside Quietra's control.
No software can guarantee absolute privacy or security. Quietra reduces cloud-AI privacy exposure, but residual device-level, platform-level, and operational risk remains.
Quietra does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through its ordinary product flows. Some optional support or license-account interactions may involve an email address or other contact information, but Quietra does not independently verify the age of every user.
If you believe a child has provided us personal data in a way that requires deletion under applicable law, contact us using the methods in Section 14 and we will review the request.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the product, our practices, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date, the effective date, and the version shown at the top of this policy, and we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
For privacy questions, rights requests, support issues, or deletion requests, contact us through the in-app Contact form, at quietra.ai/contact, or by email at info@quietra.ai.
